Year 3
Welcome to the Year 3 class page!
This year, Year 3 will be taught by Mrs Sullivan, alongside our teaching assistant Mrs Jones. As your children enter this very exciting journey into key stage two, we would like to promote independence and we will focus on teaching children to become increasingly responsible for their own learning.
The children will follow a broad and balanced curriculum comprising the core subjects English, mathematics and science, together with history, geography, art, design and technology, French, religious education, PSHE/RSE, computing, music and PE.
Across the curriculum, Year 3 have some exciting and engaging themes coming up over the year including:
- How did life change for Ancient Britons change during the Stone Age?
- Why do some earthquakes cause more damage than others?
- Rocks – rocks, fossils and soils
- Stop-frame animation
- What is the secret of the standing stones? (Bronze Age Britain)
- Identity, society and equality: celebrating difference
Further information about our topics and individual subjects can be found on the school curriculum map.
If you have any questions, queries or messages, please contact us via the home link books or e-mail via the school office.
